Ambode Plans Provisions for youths (Graduates and Undergraduates)
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of the Lagos State has said it will not be out of place for his administration to make adequate budgetary provisions for youths in the coming years in order to make them more employable and tackle security challenges. Speaking through the state’s Youth and Social Development, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, Ambode said all efforts were being put in place to launch mobile and electronic versions of Lagos State Youth Policy for free accessibility to Lagosians in and outside the state by 2018. Speaking at the stakeholders’ session on the development of the strategic implementation framework for the Lagos State Youth Policy held at Onikan Youth Centre, Onikan Lagos Island, he said since the launch of National Youth Policy in 2015 which was domesticated to suit the Lagos Youth, many youths still lack access to the youth policy.
He said the session which afforded the stakeholders the opportunity to address the issues affecting the youths would enable the Ministries Departments and Agencies to make adequate budgetary provisions for the youths who are the bedrock of the nation. Earlier this year, the braille version of the Youth Policy was launched for youths living with visual impairment. Uzamat noted that the government will continue demonstrating it’s commitment to the development of young people in the state.
