The GDG conference tagged Google I/O (which is the biggest developer event for Googlers and Google developers) held yesterday 20th June 2018 @ Cents Auditorium, FUNAAB. The event was dominated by Student ranging from different colleges in Funaab. The event started with a keynote session from the CEO of Google Sundar Pichai. The speakers who graced the event were George Igwegbe and Chioma james uzoma. Ms George who is an ambassador for AI6 Saturday(an Artificial intelligence hub based in Lagos) spoke on Artificial intelligence, which is one of the fastest growing technologies used in fields like health care, entertainment, engineering and many other field, which is rapidly changing the world. Some examples of Google AI product are: Google assistant, smart compose, Google maps among many others, He spoke majorly on Machine learning, Deep learning. Miss Chioma james who is an alumni of FUNNAB, an assistant program developer at Andela, Trainer at Google digital skill Africa, spoke extensively on Digital skills, One of the major advice she gave is building your CV, she also spoke on some trending Google product like Datally, Google trend, Youtube go, among many others.
There was a question and answer session where questions where well treated and delivered with the appropriate answers. Freebies where also given out to students who were asked question and also got the answers correctly. There was a quiz session which prizes were won. The photo session marked the end of the event, where students were happy taking pictures and networking with some of the brightest minds in Technology.
